DUDLEY CASTLE - dudley - west midlands

This month we are profiling Dudley Castle, deep in the heart of the West Midlands.

The castle stands a ruin overlooking Dudley Zoo and Town, ruined following fighting following the rebelling of its historic owners against the crown

It was further badly damaged in the Civil War where it was used as a Royalist Stronghold.

It is believed that some of the spirits alleged to haunt this castle are those of soldiers and innocent dwellers who perished in these bitter and bloody battles.

People who have witnessed apparitions have fled with terror and fear after coming face to face with lifelike figures, felt the touch of a cold hand and in some cases been made physically sick by contact from the other side.

In the grounds which now form a large zoo, there are also often reports of footsteps, voices and the feeling of being watched. There are also reports of an old lady and her beloved cat who were murdered by some young villains who found them living inside.

A "Grey Lady" is reported to be seen frequently by the triple gateway and courtyard.

Many of the CPI team has visited this location on occasions and have witnessed strange events and eery feelings.

Why these spirits choose to stay at the Dudley Castle is a Mystery - why not go along sometime and take a look for yourself...
