"All our safety is important, we will never put anyone at risk"

The very nature of investigations mean that we have to seriously take into account the health and safety of our team and any guests that may join us on location.

Many investigations take place in complete darkness or very poor lighting conditions and therefore this itself poses many safety issues.

Numerous measures are in place to ensure the safety of all people and the protection of property when CPI choose to investigate a location.

Risk Assessments

After identifying a location we would like to investigate, we visit the location prior to the live investigation to check out whether there are any risks associated.

There are many risks considered, some of which are:

Building conditions - floors, ceilings, stairs

Falling Debris

Electrical damage or loose wiring/risk of electrocution

Water or flood damage/risk of drowning

Heavy/Dangerous plant or mechanical equipment

There are also the human factors to consider:

External people attack/assault/damage to property

People under the influence of drink or drugs

Time wasters/fakers influencing the investigation

These are just a few of the factors, but once all our criteria is considered if the group feels that the location poses no serious risk we will approve the investigation and go to the location.

On some locations only small areas of that property may pose a threat and may be sealed off (i.e. should a room have poor flooring).

Health & Safety

Whilst the general health and safety of the team and our guests is the responsibility of the individual themselves we always try to ensure that the safety of everyone is paramount.

We will refuse entry to any event to anyone suspected of being under the influence of drink or drugs.

We always ensure that at least one of our team is First Aid trained and is able to practice.

We always ensure that there is a means of communication with the "Outside" world, i.e. Walkie Talkies, cell phone etc. should an ambulance be required or an emergency situation arises.

During introductions to any investigation, should anyone on the CPI team or the general public be deemed to be a danger to the team or the other guests, they will be removed.

CPI also reserve the right to CANCEL WITHOUT NOTICE any location investigation should any situation occur where the team feel that there is a risk of danger to anyone on that location.
